The Rotary Club of Likas Bay, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu, was chartered on the 24th August,1983. This second club in the Sabah state capital was assured of a firm foundation with the sacrifice of three members by the sponsoring club to give it continuity and the attendance at every regular meeting for a whole Rotary year by one of its senior Rotarians.

Likas Bay, in its turn, wasted no time in sponsoring the third club in Kota Kinabalu - the Rotary Club of Kinabalu South, giving up 4 of its members to do so.

Presently Likas Bay has 38 members, including one lady member, and is anxiously looking around for more. It meets on Wednesday at 6.00p.m. at the downtown SUTERA HARBOUR RESORT, PACIFIC WING ,KOTA KINABALU, SABAH, MALAYSIA where an excellent Chinese cuisine dinner is offered.
