Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry was founded in August 1911. It was known as "Jesselton Chinese Chamber of Commerce" when it was first established.

The strength of membership has grown from some 50 plus in the early years to more than one thousand now.




The objectives of the chamber are:
  1. To promote cooperation among the members for the advancement of commerce and industry, to assist in the development of the economics of the nation and to inculcate the duty of loyalty to the state and the nation.
  2. To safeguard the interest of the member, to disseminate information relating to commerce and industry; to promote unity, goodwill and harmony among the ethnic groups.
  3. To play the role as a communicating bridge between the government and the business sector; to carry out activities beneficial to the people and help to bring about prosperity.
  4. To promote education and to propagate the Chinese culture.

Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KKCCCI) has been actively playing its traditional role in the promotion of Chinese education. Currently, there are five schools directly under the management of KKCCCI, namely SRJK Chung Hwa Kampung Air, SRJK Chung Hwa Likas, SRJK Hwa Shiong Putatan, Chung Hwa Kindergarten Likas and Hwa Shiong Kindergarten Putatan; while another school, the Kota Kinabalu High School is being jointly managed by KKCCCI together with United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu High School Ex-Students Association.

In order to play a leading role in the local Chinese Community in the advancement of commerce and industry, KKCCCI has strengthen its organisation by setting up various bureaus and Sub-committees responsible for respective fields of activities.

There are four bureaus in KKCCCI, namely, Commerce and Industry Bureau, Public Affairs Bureau, Culture and Education Bureau, and Administration and Finance Bureau.
